Chief Executive Officer

Sanjay joined Altico Capital in November 2015.

Sanjay is responsible to develop and execute on the vision and strategy for the Altico Capital and its business in India.

Sanjay has over 25 years of experience across various geographies, in particular covering South East Asia. He has in-depth knowledge of telecom, transport, power, logistics, social infrastructure and real estate sectors through his role in prestigious public and private financial institutions which include Citi, Lehman Brothers, IFC and IDFC. He has comprehensively covered all aspects including the development, construction, operation and debt and equity financing for projects and sponsor companies.

Prior to joining Altico Capital, and during the transition period from IDFC to IDFC Bank, Sanjay was the Corporate & Investment Banking Head with IDFC Bank. Before that he was leading IDFC’s core INR 60,000 crore loan business as the Group Co-Head of Project Finance for almost half a decade. He served on several key committees including the Bank Steering Committee, Operating Committee, Management Committee and the Credit Committee.

Sanjay holds Masters in Business Administration, International Business from University of Hartford and bachelor degree in commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi.

Chief Operating Officer

Sanjeev Agrawal is a seasoned leader with about 32 years of overall experience cutting across banking, finance, operations, strategic transformations and operations.

A large part (24 years) of his storied career has been spent at Standard Chartered Bank both in India and Asia. In his last role as Regional CFO – ASEAN, South Asia and Singapore he oversaw 16 countries and 40 companies. Individual country CFOs reported into him in this role.

While his background is in the CFO function, Sanjeev has often been in a COO and occasionally an acting CEO besides being on the Board of many group companies. In his role he designed and drove the strategy for the firm, transformational initiatives including acquisitions and divestments, operational efficiency and cost reductions to name a few responsibilities. He most recently implemented the restructuring of Standard Charterer’s JV in Indonesia.

Sanjeev brought “tremendous” leadership ability and has worked very capably with business leaders. He is known to be “astute across both the risk and balance sheet sides” and has “led teams of up to 200 people.” He is also known for his thought leadership across wide range of topics related to financial sector finance.

Dhruv has joined Altico Capital as Chief Financial Officer in March, 2016.

He has over 23 years of work experience and is responsible for Risk Management, Compliance, Business Development and Finance functions including fund raising and will be an integral part of the growth envisaged for the company.

His last assignment was Director-Finance & Risk Management in Milestone Capital Advisors Ltd where he was responsible for Financial Risk Management, Business Development, Finance, Client Interface, Compliance and fund raising which have given him invaluable experience for an in depth understanding of the market dynamics related to this ever changing sector.

His earlier assignments also included working as Group CFO at ‘IIFL Holdings Ltd'(erstwhile India Infoline Limited) and ‘CitiFinancial Consumer Finance India Ltd.’ (NBFC arm of Citigroup operations in India) heading their Treasury & Risk functions.

Dhruv has worked across multiple industries both domestic and MNC entities and has specialized in NBFC financing. His core competencies include Fund Raising, Debt Syndication, Financial Control and Corporate Governance, Budgeting & Planning, Risk Management, Compliance, Business restructuring, Investor Relations.

He has been responsible for Finance, Legal, Taxation, setting up Risk Management framework, Compliances, reporting to Board of Directors, working with JV partners, managing external constituents including offshore investors & various regulatory agencies

He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, Licentiate Company Secretary, and a Cost and Works Accountant.

Amit Pachisia

Managing Director - Chief Credit Officer

Amit Pachisia joined Altico in 2006 and is based in Mumbai. He joined CCPIL in April, 2006.

Amit heads Lending, Investment and Asset management at Altico. He manages the loan portfolio at Altico and leads the credit function encompassing deal origination, analysis, structuring, execution and post-investment asset management at Altico.

As part of Clearwater, he has worked across various credit and equity investments and has executed investments and exits across multiple sectors in India. He closely engages with sponsors and management teams.

Prior to joining Altico Capital, Amit was a management consultant at Stern Stewart, where he was involved in financial advisory and strategy consulting projects for leading businesses in India and Malaysia. Amit has also worked at Marico Ltd, a leading FMCG company in India, where he was responsible for business planning, operational improvements and capital planning.

Amit has completed the post-graduate program in management from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (ISB), featuring in the dean’s merit list. He holds a graduate degree in Commerce from Mumbai University (Narsee Monjee College) and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Mrinal Chandran

Mrinal Chandran joined Altico in 2007.

Mrinal is responsible for deal analysis and structuring, deal execution, participation in credit committee decision making process for new investments, exits, restructurings, asset management, strategic initiatives and business risk issues.

As part of Clearwater Capital, Mrinal worked on the entire cycle debt and equity investments across several sectors and multiple approaches including investments by way of buyouts, open offers, minority positions, convertibles, bonds and loans, workouts and strategic and public market exits.

Prior to joining Altico, Mrinal worked at Amarchand Mangaldas and at DSK Legal (erstwhile Andersen Legal) where his expertise included mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, commercial lending and restructurings.

Mrinal has attended Harvard Business School’s accelerated management program, the Program for Leadership Development. He holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and a Masters in Laws from Boston University in Banking and Finance where he stood second in his class. He is a recipient of the Tata Scholarships from the J.N. Tata Endowment.

At National Law School, he was Treasurer of the Student Bar Association and was appointed to the Editorial Board of the University's publishing society, the Student Advocate, in the 50th year of the Indian Constitution. Mrinal has several publications to his credit. He has been a member of the Indian Venture Capital Association's Special Interest Group on Legal Affairs and speaker at various conferences and fora. He continues to be associated with financial industry related policy issues.

He is also an independent director on the Board of Directors of Volkswagen Finance Private Limited, the non-banking financial business of the VW Group.

Sonal Shah
Managing Director - Chief Human Resources Officer

Sonal joined as Altico Capital in April 2018.

Sonal is responsible for Human Resources & Admin, Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Communication for Altico Capital.

Sonal has over 17 years of experience and a large part (14 years) of her career was spent in leading Human Resources for Investment Banks such Nomura, Credit Suisse and JM Morgan Stanley Securities (the joint venture between JM Financials and Morgan Stanley). Her last assignment has been in heading the HR and Admin team for Knight Frank India which gave immense knowledge of the Real Estate Sector.

In her role at Nomura she has designed and driven People Strategy including the integration during the Lehman Brothers acquisition. While her background is in the Human Resources, she has led the CSR and Corporate Communications functions for Nomura. She has played a vital role in formulating the strategy, vision, framework and the governance structure for the CSR. She was also on the Boardof 2 of Nomura’s group companies.

Sonal holds a Masters in Business Administration from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees (ENPC) and Bachelors of Arts degree from Sophia College, Mumbai.

Kunal Choksi
Executive Director - Chief Technology Officer

Kunal joined Altico Capital in April 2018.

Kunal is responsible for IT/Digital transformation in Altico. In addition, he is also responsible for overall IT operations and information security. Kunal has over 17 years of experience. He has spent over 15 years as a Management Consultant in the Big 4s as a business and technology consultant and IT Audit.

His focus areas were Banking and NBFC. He has also worked across industry verticals such as Media, Manufacturing and Travel.

Kunal has been involved in preparation of various banking applications licenses on behalf of various corporate groups and has played a role in the technology build out of greenfield organizations in India.

Kunal has extensively worked with Reserve Bank of India as a consultant. He has introduced Core Banking Solution, conducted HR transformation for them and worked on a centralised complaint management system for Reserve Bank of India.

Prior to joining Altico, Kunal was a Director in Ernst & Young LLP (India) in their Performance Improvement practice.

Kunal holds a Masters in Business Administration from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (Mumbai University) - Finance and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Director - Company Secretary Legal & Compliance

Binoy joined Altico Capital in October 2015.

Binoy is currently responsible for the company secretarial, compliances and legal. He has over 8 years of experience in the areas of corporate secretarial, fund raising (initial/follow on public issue, right issue and private placement), NBFC compliances, joint ventures and other statutory/regulatory compliance affairs.

Prior to joining Altico, Binoy served as the AVP- Company Secretary, Legal & Compliance Officer at Tata Cleantech Capital Limited, a group company of Tata Capital Limited and previously, he was associated with Future Capital Holdings Ltd, IIFL Group and Macquarie Group where he was a part of group Secretarial, Compliance & Legal function.

Binoy holds an Associate Membership of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Gen. LLB degree from the Mumbai University, Post Graduate Diploma in Securities Law from Government Law College, Mumbai and Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Mumbai University.
